Troop 168 had a terrific 2021!

Some of the fun activities the Troop did in the past year in addition to our Troop campouts were Summer Camp, Klondike Derby, camporees, canoe and backpacking trips, and Whitewater rafting. We continued to perform service projects for Saint Patrick Parish and community such as placing flags at the cemeteries, Scouting For Food, and clean-up of the St Eleanor Regina chapel grounds.

Two of our Scouts earned their Eagle Scout award, the Troop again earned "Honor Troop" while at Camp Rodney, earned the Gold level in the Journey to Excellence program and the Pope Paul VI Quality Troop Award by the Diocese for the 14th consecutive year. Troop 168 was the only unit in the entire Harrisburg Diocese to earn this award.

We anticipate that 2022 will be another fun and successful year!

Troop 168 earned the Pope Paul VI National Catholic Unit Excellence Award for the 14th consecutive year!

Cooperation, development, and program are the key words in the recognition of Catholic chartered units in earning the National Catholic Quality Unit Award - Pope Paul VI. The adult leadership responds to training not only in Scouting lores, but training in Catholic Scouter Development, and religious counseling. The Scouts in each Pack, Troop, Team, and Crew/Ship respond by participating in the religious emblems program respective of their status in Scouting.

Scouting for Food 2021making a difference in our local community!

Scouting for Food is an annual food collection held each November. It is a joint effort of younger Cub Scouts and older Scouts.

On Saturday Nov 6th, Cub Scout Pack 168 and Cub Scout pack 189 distributed Scouting for Food door-hangers in area neighborhoods. Over the week, generous residents assembled bags/boxes of food donations and placed them outside their homes visible from the street by 9 AM Saturday Nov 13th.  The older Scouts then did the "heavy lifting"!

Scouts from Troop 168 and Troop 189 canvassed the same neighborhoods, retrieved the residents' generous donations, and transported all to Project SHARE of Carlisle PA.

The 2021 efforts resulted in fifteen (15) overly full shopping carts! Troop 168's collections weighed in at 1,366 pounds!

Pack 168 and Troop 168 are sponsored by Saint Patrick Church and Cub Scout Pack 189 and Troop 189 are sponsored by St Paul Evangelical Lutheran Church.
